I'm often surprised by how beautiful some TV and movies really are. I started doing these paintings while I was re-watching The Wire, and kept having to pause on these beautiful shots. The first time I watched the show, I remembered loving it, but primarily for the writing and the casting. I didn't remember noticing how cinematic it was, but there are these magnificent angles happening during the scenes that I recall being so well written. Of course the second time you watch a show, you have the luxury of knowing what is coming, so you naturally see it from a fresh perspective.
