Bio

I am a multi-disciplinary artist living in my hometown of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.  I spent about a decade in Victoria, BC, as a gallery and shop owner in the city's historic Fan Tan Alley. After moving back to Ottawa, I turned my focus to my own artwork. My paintings work through themes that range from the mystical to the mundane. I find a lot of inspiration in nature, and surround myself with plants and animals at every opportunity. I also enjoy painting a 'moment' using my personal photos as reference and inspiration for the visuals. My mother worked as a professional calligrapher while I was growing up, and I have always enjoyed exploring lettering and finding ways to insert it in my compositions. Lately I've been drawing on themes in society and media that have personal significance to me, and seem to have a universal resonance. I hope that my art makes you feel something, and if it makes you laugh, I was probably hoping it would. Thank you for looking, it wouldn't be the same if you hadn't.
